We're moving!

Hey everybody! We have some exciting news to present to you! After hours of hard work and pestering people who actually know what they are doing, we are proud to present http://www.eggyemporium.com/! Its still a work in progress of course, but we found that the features of a website were better for what we wanted to accomplish than a blog.
Now, you may be wondering, what features could he possibly be talking about? The first is rather straightforward, yet still very useful. The idea was given to me by Kamaal Harris. We have compiled what is known as an eBST list, or effective Base Stat Total. The way it works is that, when looking at a regular base stat total of a Pokemon, the results may be skewed owing to the fact that one of the Pokemons attacking stats is, more often than not, unused. This makes a Pokemon like Salamence who in VGC often does not use its attacking stat, has a much higher BST than is accurate. In our eBST list, you can view both the Physical and the Special eBST's of Salamence and get a more realistic picture of what Pokemon have similar stats. The eBST list can be found here.

We also have the usage stats from the Shade Off analyzed by yours truly, feel free to give the article a look here.

Another unique feature to our website is a project we have undergone that is remarkably difficult, yet we still hope to accomplish. The idea is to create a resource of individual Pokemon analysis', sets, EV's, items, etc, similar to what Smogon does for single battling, compiling a database of Pokemon analysis. We have begun the analysis' with the 84 Pokemon we thought most prominent, yet the going is slow. We aim to include a new Pokemon every few days however, and the featured analysis block on the website will tell you when it is updated! Additionally, if you want to contribute a set or spread to the database, or write an introduction, if the quality is good enough we would be happy to include it on the site. All the links to the individual analysis' can be found in the table shown here

And, unless I am forgetting something, lastly we have probably what I am the most proud of and the most wide reaching of everything we have put together, a working 6th generation teambuilder. JTK has been slaving away at it for weeks now, enduring constant harassment from your truly, and she finally walked 15 miles in the desert to deliver it to us. There are still a few bugs that we are working out (Charizard Mega Forms dont work yet, we'll fix it, sorry!) and it is only the first version, but we hope it will be an extremely valuable tool during the teambuilding process. And we even have abilities! The Teambuilder can be found, guess where? Here!

Its been a lot of fun working on this blog so far, and I've really enjoyed putting the time and effort into it and seeing it pay off. I want to thank everyone who has been keeping up with us, and for all the positive feedback (and feedback in general!) we have received. It is my goal to be responsive to the community, so if you have an idea, please don't hesitate to share it! And from all of us at Eggy Emporium, thank you for reading.

  1. *raucous applause* Bravo! It all looks absolutely amazing, and I'm especially loving the like-smogon-analysis-but-for-vgc aspect (not to demean JTK and her 15 miles of desert-walking). Can't wait to watch it all grow!

Interesting thing to note, though: if you're using AdBlock in Chrome (and, really, doesn't everyone?) then absolutely none of the text on the main page shows up. It's very weird.

    1. To those using Adblock, I'd suggest pausing it while on EggyEmporium, as Wolfe and his friends have gone to a great deal of work to bring us this content at no cost. The least we can do is help pay the site's maintenance fees by scrolling past a few ads.

Regarding the main page, text isn't showing up with Adblock paused, either.
